This is nothing new for the act, which has managed to continuously return to the weekly rankings with a slew of fan-favorite recordings across the decades. Their latest charting title is special, though, as it helps the rockers make history. This week, the Grateful Dead return to the Billboard 200 with their new set, Dave's Picks, Volume 48: Pauley Pavilion, UCLA, Los Angeles, CA, 11/20/71 —a live recording that comes from exactly when and where its title suggests. The album opens at No. 33 on the ranking of the most-consumed releases of the week with a little more than 19,200 equivalent units shifted, according to data shared by Luminate. Dave's Picks, Volume 48: Pauley Pavilion, UCLA, Los Angeles, CA, 11/20/71 marks the Grateful Dead’s fifty-eighth top 40 title on the Billboard 200. According to the San Francisco Chronicle , this latest win on the chart helps the band tie the all-time record for the most appearances inside the competitive region on the tally. With 58 top 40 albums to their credit, the Grateful Dead already claim the most placements in the tier among groups of any kind. They are now on the same level as two of the biggest stars who ever recorded and released music, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Dave's Picks, Volume 48: Pauley Pavilion, UCLA, Los Angeles, CA, 11/20/71 is the Grateful Dead’s latest album to hit the Billboard 200, and it hasn’t been very long since they debuted their previous title on the ranking. They last debuted on the chart back in August. This new hit is actually their fifth charting title of 2023 alone.
